Teaching Tips

The teacher's assistant can be a blessing by taking care of the physical needs of the children

Get down on your hands and knees in the classroom and check for anything that can be a choking hazard
First, print the eight templates below on paper that corresponds in color as indicated (also, see the sample craft shown above).

Cornucopia (buff paper)
Apples (red paper)
Bananas (yellow paper)
Grapes (purple paper)
Lemons (yellow paper)
Oranges (orange paper)
Pears (green paper)
Potatoes (brown paper)

For preschool children (1 to 5 years old):
Before class, cut out all fruits and vegetables.  Make one complete "Cornucopia" as a sample craft to show the children.
During class, have children glue the fruits and vegetables to the "Cornucopia."  Show them the sample craft, so they will know how to arrange the fruits and vegetables.

For early grade school children (6 to 7 years old):
Before class, rough-cut all fruits and vegetables (the children will finish cutting the parts out).  Make one complete "Cornucopia" as a sample craft to show the children.
During class, have the children finish cutting out all the fruits and vegetables.  Next, allow children to glue them to the "Cornucopia."  Show them the sample craft, so they will know how to arrange the fruits and vegetables.
